Three fragile flowers, joined by the same stem, form a “visual metaphor” for the family. Interpreting the work through the ideas of Lucian Blaga and the role of metaphor in concealing multiple layers of meaning, at first glance the flowers suggest the complex relationships that develop between two parents and the new member of the family. The smallest of the flowers introduces the idea of beginning, vulnerability, and becoming, while simultaneously altering the balance between the other two.

Upon closer observation, however, each flower retains its own form and orientation, much like the members of a family who share the same intimate space while remaining autonomous identities. For Elleny, therefore, the family is not a rigid structure, but a living organism that transforms, evolves, and blossoms through love and mutual support.

The richly decorated frame, seemingly in contrast with the delicacy of the representation and the simplicity of the background, creates, upon a second reading, the sensation of a family portrait—a story blossoming in real time.
